Early Times Report

Jammu, Jan 27: Several DDC members on Tuesday skip the Republic Day function at respective Block Headquarters and prefer to participate in national function at District Headquarter Kishtwar.
As per the details available with Early Times, DDC member Abdul Razak Lone (Warwan), Sheikh Zafrullah (Marwah), Pooja Bhandari (Dachhan), Tahir Masood (Palmar), Zakir Hussain (Kishtwar) & Faisal Hussain (Nagsini) attended the Republic Day function at Kishtwar instead of at respective blocks.
The reason behind skipping the Republic Day function at respective blocks is attributed to conflict of interest since the Block Development Council Chairpersons had been authorised to hoist the National Flag at Block level while is majority of the blocks in Kishtwar District, the members from opposite groups are holding the BDC Chairperson posts.
Only in Block Bhunzwah, Mughal Maidan both DDC and BDC Chairperson belongs from same party I.e Congress- In Padder and Trigam both DDC member & BDC Chairperson belongs to BJP while in Drabshalla block, among the two DDC one each belongs to BJP and Congress while BDC Chairperson from Drabshalla block of Kishtwar District belongs to Congress.
BJP who wins only 3 seats in Kishtwar DDC had BDC Chairpersons in Marwah, Dachhan, Palmar, Nagsini, Kishtwar from where party losses all the DDC seats other than in Padder block.
It is pertinent to mention that the three DDC members from remote areas of Marwah, Warwan and Dachhan had not visited the respective constituencies after taking oath over a month ago.
