Early Times Report

Jammu, Jan 27: Throughout Wednesday, former chief minister and president of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP), Mehbooba Mufti tweeted a series of tweets to project arrested party’s youth wing president Wahid Parra as ‘innocent’ and victim of political vendetta.
Although many senior PDP leaders have been detained by the agencies for different cases, Mehbooba is only worried about Parra who was arrested on November 25, 2020 in connection with the Naveed Babu-DySP Davinder Singh case for supporting the Hizbul Mujahideen terror outfit.
She alleged that “continuous harassment” of Parra was an example of persecution by New Delhi to those politicians who are refusing to toe their line.
Mehbooba Mufti in a series of tweets mentioned “Disliked & mistrusted by people in J&K for their faith in Indian constitution on one hand & punished by GOI for not toeing their line on the other.”

PDP reaches Jammu to bring ceasefire among warring factions in party

Mehbooba Mufti reached Jammu this evening to bring cease-fire among fighting groups within the party. She is likely to meet leaders who have raised banners of revolt against general secretary Surinder Choudhary for removing them from their positions.
Reliable sources said that Mehbooba Mufti would meet annoyed leaders individually so as to seek feedback from them regarding ongoing infighting.
re of Parra, Mehbooba tweeted, “As a child he’d visit the local MLA''s house & listen to political conversations with rapt attention. His mother was scared that one fine day he’d pursue this passion for politics & become a target for militants. Sadly this fear consumed her & she died when Waheed was a teenager”.
While she blamed that the very same system in which Parra placed his trust is taking revenge from him. She also added that Waheed despite being in illegal detention fought & won DDC elections from jail. Even after a strong bail order by NIA court he was rearrested by CIK on unknown charges.
“His last hope now rests on the justice system & I hope that truth & justice prevail”, she tweeted, adding, “Not having any proof to substantiate these charges, GOI is on a spree where Waheed is arrested by one agency after another. It is sheer political vendetta & an attempt to sabotage the life of a young & promising 32 year old man”.
