Shahnawaz demands indoor, outdoor stadium in Surankote

Surankote, Jan 27: DDC Member Surankote Shahnawaz Choudhary called upon Commisioner Secretary Sports and Youth Affairs, pressed upon the demand of an indoor and an outdoor stadium in Surankote
District Development Council Member Surankote, Shahnawaz Chowdhary today called upon Sarmad Hafeez (IAS), Commisioner Secretary Sports and Youth Affairs and tourism department in presence of Naseem Javed, Secretary Sports Council, J&K and raised the demand of an sports stadium for Surankote near ITI Surankote. Shahnawaz also submitted that the land for the supposed outdoor stadium is also identified by me with the help of local administration and took up the project with sports council and now only awaits the green signal from the concerned authorities. The Commissioner Secretary responded to this demand positively and assured a positive reciprocation from his side. Apart from an outdoor stadium Shahnawaz also demanded an indoor stadium for Surankote which was endorsed by the Commissioner Secretary and it was also assured that in future an indoor stadium would also be kept on the cards for Surankote, Jammu. Shahnawaz while pressing for these demands cited their positive impact on the society especially the youth which the stadiums will attract and will keep them off from indulging in any anti-social activities. According to Shahnawaz, "It can be a nursery for helping the raw talent of Surankote bloom and bring laurels to their hometown".
Another demand raised in the meeting included developing of Surankote into a tourist destination. Shahnawaz said, "Surankote has a huge tourism potential but due to some reasons it was neglected from past some years however, now the administration should be serious about the tourism sector of Surankote. He submitted a list of beautiful places needs to be develop including Jabbi, gali, jammu shaheed, Osi dana, suranthal, Dana shastar, Ranjati, Dehar, Hill Kaka, seven lakes near peer ki gali, Sar badan (Lake), Handuali marg, dehra gali etc. After the development of Surankote into a tourist destination, I am sure it will generate an enormous amount of employment opportunities and help boost the economical condition of the people", Shahnawaz added.
