JAMMU, Apr 25: Citizens’ Forum requested LG Manoj Sinha to check the wastage of money being spent on the renovation and reestablishment of Chopra Nursing Home in GMC, Jammu which is still incomplete. On our demand Rs 15 crore was sanctioned and Rs 10 crore was advanced for early completion to be used for Corona pandemic but it is still a brick walled empty structure only, the Forum added.
We request the government to attach Narayana Hospital Katra with GMC Jammu as it has become money minting medical shopping arcade where you don't get a glass of water with even proper paid services.
R K Chadha, president Citizens’ Forum said people of Jammu are fed up blaming involvement of blue eyed leaders and contractors in creating medical infrastructure in Jammu and that too inferior in quality and design. Today more hospitals are needed very badly in Jammu to meet the challenge of 2nd wave of corona.
He said that we had many times requested the government that new shopping mall at Bus Stand Jammu, instead of selling it, be converted into a big hospital to cater to whole of Jammu region but selling shops and earning money is more important than saving life of helpless people. The personal interest of certain people in public properties is a hindrance in the development of Jammu’s health infrastructure. |
