DC inspects enforcement of COVID control measures in Chenani town

UDHAMPUR, Apr 25: Deputy Commissioner, Udhampur Indu Kanwal Chib visited Tehsil Chenani, here the other day to take stock of the enforcement of COVID-19 containment measures.
The DC sensitized the shopkeepers about Covid appropriate behaviour and asked them to wear face masks and maintain social distancing by drawing circles at one meter distance in front of their establishments, and do not allow any customers without masks to enter the shop.
Later, she chaired a meeting attended by Sub –Divisional Magistrate Abdul Sattar, Vice President MC Amit Abrol and sectoral officers, besides representatives of Beopar mandal.
The DC asked the local administration to enforce the fresh guidelines regarding opening of shops on different days of the week and plying of passenger transport vehicles with 50 percent of normal seating capacity.
The BMO was asked to scale up the process of vaccination by mobilizing the ASHA workers and PRIs to inoculation the admissible age groups in a time bound manner.
She further asked BMO Chenani to increase testing by laying special focus on RT-PCR testing and establishment of sampling collection centre at Bus stand Chenani and other areas with significant footfall.
The DC stressed upon to prioritize the sampling of travelers to detect positive cases.
The Manager J&K Bank was asked to shift the branch to another spacious place within 15 days.
For the convenience of the public, TSO Chenani was directed to ensure distribution of ration at Panchayat level.
Any violation of this order shall invite action under law and dealt with under relevant provisions, she added
