Early Times Report

Srinagar, Apr 25: Alleging that even as India gasps for breath due to inept handling of COVID-19 situation by the Government of India (GoI), former chief minister Mehbooba Mufti said that ‘centre’s paranoia about Kashmiris has touched a new low with social media of government employees now being monitored’.
Mehbooba, who is the president of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), further alleged that the vengeance with which J&K’s special status was scrapped doesn’t seem to have an end in sight.
“Even as India gasps for breath thanks to GOIs inept handling of COVID, it’s paranoia about Kashmiris has touched a new low with social media of government employees now being monitored. The vengeance with which J&K’s special status was scrapped doesn’t seem to have an end in sight,” Ms Mehbooba wrote on micro-blogging site twitter.
Jammu and Kashmir’s General Administration Department (O9JK-GAD of 2021) issued a circular in March, asking all the administrative secretaries, divisional commissioners and heads of various departments to get security clearance of unverified government employees from the J&K Police’s criminal investigation department (CID).
The new guidelines by the government included scrutiny of social media accounts of employees.
