| “Mankotia organizes ‘Matka Fod’ rally to highlight water crisis in Udhampur” | | |  Early Times Report
Udhampur, June 11: Up in arms against the Jal Shakti Department for its failure over addressing water crisis at Udhampur , former MLA Balwant Singh Mankotia, along with scores of workers, & general public took out a ‘Matka-Fod’ rally against the Jal Shakti Department and protested against the water crisis. The protesters expressed their anger by breaking the earthen pitchers (pots) outside the office as a mark of protest.
Mankotia lambasted the department for their failure & said that the PHE department is completely turned blind due to people are making hue & cry due to acute shortage of water. He warned that if PHE department will not restored the proper supply of water soon, then he will be forced to protest even more strongly.
He said that the shortage of water in the city as well as in the panchayats of Udhampur constituency has increased beyond the limit, regarding which the department does not seem to be taking any appropriate action.
Mankotia said that the officers of the department are busy in doing ‘Chamchagiri’ of BJP leaders.
He said that the officers of the department are only making them happy by holding meetings with the BJP leaders, whereas the officers are not ready to addressing the problems of general public which will never be tolerated, he warned. |
