| Panchayat Kanyal has no Covid Care Center | | |  Early Times Report
Jammu, June 11: The officials have failed to implement the direction of Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha to set up a 5-bedded Covid care centre at Panchayat Kanyal in Dansal area.
Locals while talking to Early Times said that they had heard announcement about Covid care centers being set up in all the Panchayats across J&K but “it seems that claim has remained confined to papers only. No center has been set up in our Panchayat.”
The center was supposed to be set up inside the premises of Government High School Kanyala but the spot visit revealed that nothing has been done to set up the Covid Care Center inside the school.
A local Subash Chander said, “Nearly eighteen to twenty people had tested Covid positive in their village and they were moved to other areas for treatment. Had the Covid Care Center been set up in our village, it would have helped people to some extent.”
It’s in place to mention here that LG Sinha led government had sanctioned Rs 1 lakh to each panchayat for setting up the 5-bedded facility in the rural areas, but reports emanating from the ground indicate that still a lot needs to be done to make these centers functional.
