Early Times Report

Samba, June 11: On November 2020 Manvi was married to Raghu Sharma according to the Hindu rites with dowry and gold ornaments as usual in the society. In the first month of her marriage she was happy in her married life. The husband of bride started the rifts, harassment, beating and assaulting her immediately after one month of her marriage.
Also Sister -In -Law of Manvi started harassing mentally and her the elder brother of (Brother–in –Law) Raghu attacked number of times to attempt rape with our daughter, who disclosed the facts when she came running to our house from their harassments and beating.
The mother of deceased Manvi told media that in-laws of her daughter were leveling certain allegations of mental disorder etc and they have given illegal intoxicated/ alcoholic drugs to our daughter while she was at their home and when she became helpless, came to my our house after few days she kept silent, provably due harassments, beating, assaulting and drugs given by her in-laws.
All the gold ornaments and dowry are lying in their possession at their residence, Shahidi Chowk Jammu. In the start of March 2021 her in-laws forced to leave and they took gold ornaments from our daughter and they took her to our house and went away. After that when she was in our home no one from her in-laws has ever came here for our daughter in two months. “We got her mental disorder treatment by psychiatrist. When she was recovering from her mental disorder she told us everything that she tolerated bad behaviour of her in-laws,” she said. On May 5 we went to Amritsar for the treatment of fracture bone of our son (our daughter’s brother).
Subsequently our daughter committed suicide on the same day, without disclosing facts of harassments by her in laws and succumbed to the injuries.
