Series of drives under 'Har Gaon Hariyali' conducted at Sunderbani

NOWSHERA, Dec 28: Under the theme 'Har Gaon Hariyali', various drives were organized by Divisional Forest Officer Nowshera, Neelima Shah at Sunderbani Forest Range. In this program a plantation drive was conducted in Panchayat Brevi in which fruits, flowers and other saplings were planted. Speaking on this occasion, Neelima Shah said that the main objective of Har Gaon Hariyali program is to do plantation drives in every panchayat and to make people aware about the importance of Forest. She said that the Nowshera Forest Division has so far conducted 58 such plantation drives during this year and now our aim is to conducted such drives in the panchayat which has been left out of these drives. On this occasion a large number of women along with Panchayat members participated.
Under the theme Protection of Peepal and Banyan tree, a drive was organized in Hathal in which Peepal and Banyan saplings were planted in the Hathal temple. On this occasion, Sarpanch Bal Krishna, Naib Sarpanch and local people participated.
Another such plantation drive under theme 'Har Gaon Hariyali' was conducted at Hathal in which fruit and flowering plants were planted. On this occasion a large number of women along with Sarpanch Panchayat Hathal, Naib Sarpanch and locals participated.
Speaking on the occasion, Rakesh Verma, Range Forest Officer Sunderbani said that our aim is to organize Har Gaon Hariyali at every Panchayat and also organize awareness camps with the information about the various programs being run by the Forest Department.
While visiting the forest area, the Divisional Forest Officer also inspected the pond made in the forest.
At the end, Ved Prakash Block Officer thanked everyone. He thanked Sarpanch Hathal, Naib Sarpanch Hathal and all the participants along with Sarpanch Panchyat Brevi.
The whole event was conducted under the supervision of Vivek Verma, Conservator of Forests West Circle Rajouri.
