SCERT organizes workshop on "Content Enrichment in Science at Elementary Level"

JAMMU, Dec 28: In order to leverage the goals of NEP-2020, a 5-day long Capacity Building Training-cum-Workshop for Key Resource Persons (KRPs) on "Content Enrichment in Science at Elementary Level" commenced today at SCERT J&K Divisional Office Jammu under the directions of Principal Secretary to Govt, School Education Department J&K, B.K Singh and under Director SCERT J&K, Prof. Veena Pandita, wherein KRPs of 5 districts Kishtwar, Doda, Ramban, Rajouri and Poonch are participating.
The workshop was inaugurated by Surinder Kumar, Joint Director, SCERT J&K, Jammu in presence of Associate Professors N P Singh and Pawan Gupta, Deepak Sharma (Sr Academic Officer) and Kuldeep Kumar (Academic Officer) I/C Trainings and Raj Kumar (Academic Officer).
The programme started with the welcome address by Irvinder Kour, Asstt Professor, SCERT, J&K Jammu who highlighted the aims and objectives of the training workshop.
In his inaugural address, Surinder Kumar, Joint Director, SCERT J&K, Jammu put emphasis on the various initiatives of the Education Department from time to time and also encouraged the participating KRPs to identify/understand their role and responsibilities at grass root level.
Deepak Sharma (Sr Academic Officer) also laid stress on attainment of learning outcomes but said that the same cannot be achieved without the enrichment of content and for that due focus on activity based learning has to be given to realize the goals of NEP-2020.
The programme was coordinated by Irvinder Kour, Asstt Professor, SCERT, J&K Jammu whereas Sabeta Kohli (AO) and Nayeema Firdous (AO) acted as Associate Coordinator and Asstt Coordinator respectively.
NP Singh, Associate Prof (CEO & Equiv) also threw light on activity based learning and sharpening of skills to provide the quality content to the learners.
