Panchayati Raj Deptt refutes news regarding non preparation of development plans

JAMMU, Dec 28: The Panchayati Raj Department has strongly refuted the news item carried by daily Excelsior newspaper wherein it was mentioned that 50 per cent panchayats have not yet prepared the development plans in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
As per a communiqué received here today by the department, it is said that the Development Plans have been prepared at the district level and works are being executed for the year 2021-22. The PPC Campaign, 2020, for formulation of GPDP Plans for the year 2021-22 was rolled out during 2020-21. It is pertinent to mention here that after reorganization of Jammu and Kashmir into UT, the 15th Finance Commission Grants have not been received so far and despite of this fact the UT has uploaded 2013 GPDPs on e-Gramswaraj Portal.
Further, the Peoples Plan Campaign, 2021 for formulation of Gram Panchayat Development Plan for the year 2022-23 was also rolled out in the UT which had been started from 2nd of October, 2021 and shall culminate on 31st of January, 2022. Various parameters as indicated in the campaign have been uploaded on GPDP portal and Facilitators, Frontline Workers have been assigned to the Gram Panchayats. The Gram Sabhas have been scheduled and held. Facilitator Feedback have been uploaded on the portal and GPDP in respect of 1500 Gram Panchayats have been approved in Gram Sabhas which shall be uploaded on the e-GramSwaraj Portal accordingly.
The communiqué added that all the pending GPDPs will be approved in the Gram Sabhas and shall be uploaded on e-GramSwaraj Portal within the time frame set for the PPC.
