Kavinder tears into Omar for correlating ‘real estate with demography’, questions him on free passage to Pak residents
12/28/2021 10:42:47 PM
Early Times Report

Jammu, Dec 28: Senior Bharatiya Janata Party leader and former Dy Chief Minister, Kavinder Gupta has lambasted former Chief Minister and National Conference leader, Omar Abdullah for his remarks alleging that opening the Union Territory to real estate investors is meant for changing demography of the region.
Coming down heavily on Omar Abdullah, Kavinder asked him who introduced the Resettlement Bill to give free passage to Pak residents. He asserted that the Jammu & Kashmir Grant of Permit for Resettlement in (or Permanent Return to) the State Act, 1982, was passed by the Assembly during the National Conference regime in the erstwhile state of Jammu and Kashmir to “provide for regulating the procedure to grant permit for resettlement in or permanent return to the erstwhile State of Jammu and Kashmir as also paving the way to grant the permanent resident status to them and their descendants who had migrated to Pakistan between March 1, 1947 and May 14, 1954.
The senior BJP leader said if NC Govt took initiatives in the past to settle down the Pak residents then why they are today objecting to the so called settlement of people of the nation who are likely to come and invest in Jammu and Kashmir. The incumbent government is initiating productive measures inviting investors to the Union Territory with the sole aim of development in the region, creating multiple job avenues for J&K youth in various sectors including the real estate, the NC and PDP have started misleading the people of the Jammu and Kashmir by issuing baseless statements terming these result oriented and productive initiatives as attempts to alter the demography of the Union Territory. He said that these very Kashmir based leaders have always misled the gullible masses for their petty vested interests.
Meanwhile, Kavinder Gupta paid rich tributes to Arun Jaitley on his birth anniversary today.
He also highlighted his contributions towards the nation building and especially in taking keen interest in the welfare of the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
The senior BJP leader distributed blankets among the Safaikaramcharis on the occasion.
Prominent among others present on the occasion were Vinay Gupta District President, Ajay Gupta Corporator Ward No: 52, Narinder Gupta Koki, Nitin Thappa, Ajay Kumar Baddan, T.R, Sharma, Pawan Gupta, Deepu Kumar, Ramesh Ji and Vivek Mahajan.
