Sanskrit scholars’ delegation calls on Kavinder, discusses recruitment issue
1/11/2022 10:24:24 PM
EARLY TIMES REPORT

Jammu, Jan 11: A delegation of Research Scholars of Central University of Sanskrit, Kot Bhalwal Jammu met the senior Bharatiya Janata Party leader and former Dy Chief Minister, Kavinder Gupta apprising him of various problems being faced by them.
The delegation comprising Sandeep Sharma, Ram Sharma and Aman Sharma informed the former Dy CM that some of their candidates (RRT 91, 92, 93, 94 & 95) were disqualified by Brigadier V.S. Chauhan for CEE in the recruitment of Religious teacher (Pandit) despite being valid Shastri Degree holder thus subjecting them to great injustice.
In this regard, the delegation members submitted a memorandum to him highlighting their grievances in detail.
In the memorandum it has been alleged that in Letter No: WBF/COAS/01 dated 27/09/2021 Brig V.S. Chauhan admitted that Degree of “Shastri” is equivalent to Graduation and “Acharaya” equivalent to Diploma. But in letter No: A/64202/RRT 91-95/Rtg C dated 09/12/2021, the Brig V.S. Chauhan finds only 80 candidates eligible out of 765 candidates, i.e. those who have done their “Acharaya” only after completion of graduation. It states that these contradict each other in terms of eligibility of candidates.
As per the memorandum candidates having Degree of “Shastri” and Diploma in “Acharaya” and those having Degree of “Shastri” and diploma in “Karm-Kand” are eligible for recruitment. In this way all the 765 candidates are eligible for recruitment of RRT 91-95, it has been claimed.
“When the Government of India encouraging it’s cultural, historical and spiritual values, and gives equal opportunities in every sector, in this view our traditional Sanskrit language scholars also must get every chance to serve the nation as soldier,” they said.
The delegation members appealed to Kavinder Gupta to take serious note of their burning issue so that the Shastri Degree Holder’s candidates get justice.
Kavinder Gupta assured the delegation members to take up their issues with the authorities concerned and get the issue resolved.
