Ramban buried under snow, J&K Admin nowhere: Fairoz Khan
‘Tall claims confined to social media only’

Early Times Report

Ramban, Jan 11: Congress leader and former president of National Students Union of India Fairoz Khan has said that the J&K administration led by BJP has failed to handle the crisis triggered by the recent snowfall.
Talking to reporters here Khan said that most of the areas in Ramban district are still cut off, and are without electricity and water. “The tall claims of the administration are confined to social media only as on ground nothing is happening.”
Khan said, “It’s not for the first time that Ramban or other regions of J&K have witnessed a snowfall. It happens every year, but this time around the authorities have failed miserably.”
He said, “The weatherman had predicted snowfall well in advance but the administration didn’t make any preparations. The officials just waited for snowfall to occur. There is only one snow clearance machine available with Patnitop Development Authority. The administration is using JCBs to clear the roads, and as a result these will suffer damages again. The entire system has gone haywire.”
Khan said, “The J&K government should focus on helping the people rather than concentrating on publicity. People are suffering as there is no popular government in place. The Delimitation panel should submit its report forthwith so that elections are held in J&K and people get rid of the mismanagement.”
