Power crisis hits many Rajouri areas

Rajouri, Jan 11: Power blackout and electricity crisis had hit several parts of Rajouri district after recent snowfall and bad weather conditions with local population appealing power development department to expedite the power restoration process.
As per locals hailing from different parts of Rajouri district especially from upper reaches where heavy snowfall has been received in past few days, there is Power crisis going on in the areas with several domestic Transformers lying faulty and many villages are still under blackout.
The areas which are most affected with the situation are from Kotranka sub division and Thanamandi tehsil.
Local said that due to heavy snowfall several power poles and some domestic Transformers suffered damages and power development department is although running electricity restoration process but the pace of it is is not as required.
This said that due to power blackout in some areas and increased unschedule power curtailment in others, life has come to a standstill with people said that classes of their children are being run in online mode but power crisis is badly affecting the system.
A delegation of Bhartiya Janata Party also called upon deputy commissioner Rajouri on Tuesday in which the leaders of party primarily raised the problems faced by people due to Power crisis.
The deputy commissioner Rajouri on the other hand established a special control room to entertain the complaints of Power crisis from parts of Rajouri.
