| SKIMS cancels vacation due to surge in Covid | | |

SRINAGAR, Jan 11: After Government Medical College (GMC) Srinagar, Kashmir territory care hospital Sher-e-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS) on Tuesday cancelled the winter vacation of all the faculty members of the college and they have been asked to resume their duties.
The move comes as there is a surge Covid-19 cases. In the last three days over 2000 people have tested positive for Covid-19 in J&K.
"In view of the upsurge of Covid-19/Omicron cases, the winter vacation - 2022 of faculty members of SKIMS Soura, Srinagar is hereby cancelled. All the faculty members shall resume their duties immediately, without any delay," an order issued by Director SKIMS Dr Parvaiz A Koul said.
