JAMMU, Jan 11: The parking near Maharaja Hari Singh Park at Samadhian Road here is in a very bad shape.
According to the locals the entire parking area remains inundated with the stagnant water and the filthy smell emanating from there worsens the situation.
They said that there are many slums around the park and the people living in these makeshift slums are living a miserable life. "The tall claims of the administration about turning Jammu into a Smart City are confined to papers only. The dirty parking area at Samadhian Road in the heart of the city has put a big question mark on the claims of the government," locals added.
They said that vehicles in the area are parked haphazardly and the place is being used by unscrupulous elements and criminals. "Officials seem to have turned a blind eye towards this important point in Jammu City and are allowing it to turn into a makeshift nallah. The recent rainfall has worsened the situation. It seems the concerned authorities are in no mood to maintain this space," locals added. |
