Early Times Report

Reasi, Jan 27: Deflating the tall claims of the Lieutenant Governor’s administration of providing basic amenities to all the citizens, a poor family in Reasi is reportedly left to spend nights under open sky.
According to reports, a person namely Deepak Kumar, who is living with his widow mother at Sudeen village of panchayat Kothi Sudeen in tehsil Pouni of district Rajouri, is left to the mercy of god by the district administration as well as elected representatives.
“House of Deepak Kumar was razed down to rubble a few days back, due to which he is forced to spend nights under an open sky,” said locals of the village, adding that seeing the pathetic condition of the family in such cold weather, some locals have provided space to the mother.
Locals said that the family is financially backward and not in a condition to erect the structure, so have high hopes from the district administration.
“We were expecting local representatives like DDC, BDC, panch and even district administration to lend a helping hand to the poor family to at least erect the structure, but as of now no official and public representative has even approached them with a word of sympathy,” said sources, adding that they are surprised to observe that the administration that claims to have built hundreds of houses under Indira Awas Yojna (IAY) are oblivious in this meritorious case.
The locals have requested the Lieutenant Governor to instruct the concerned authorities to help the family to reconstruct their shelter, so that the poor family can live with peace.
