| Northern Command bids farewell to Lt Gen Y K Joshi | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Jan 31: The Northern Command bids farewell to Army Commander Lieutenant General Y K Joshi on attaining superannuation on Monday.
Defence Spokesman said that the General Officer was given an emotional send-off by the Northern Command through a farewell ceremony.
As part of the ceremony he laid a wreath at the Dhruva war Memorial in remembrance of all the soldiers of Northern Command who have laid down their lives in various operations, said the Spokesman.
Lieutenant General YK Joshi will keep on inspiring the Officers of the Indian Army in the times to come, he added.
Lieutenant General YK Joshi assumed the appointment of GOC-in-C, Northern Command at Udhampur on Feb 1, 2020 and relinquished the command on Monday.
Lieutenant General YK Joshi was commissioned into 13 JAK RIF (Bravest of The Brave) on Jun 12, 1982 and later commanded the same unit.
The General Officer is an alumnus of the National Defence Academy, Khadakwasla and a postgraduate from the Defence Services Staff College, Wellington.
He also attended the prestigious National Defence College Course at New Delhi. |
