Current situation of unemployment in JK UT is very alarming and dangerous: Jasvir Singh DDC Member
‘Youth have been losing trust, faith from current system’

Early Times Report

Jammu, Jan 31: Reacting on the continuous protest demonstrations lodged by the educated unemployed youths of Jammu region, the DDC Member Jasvir Singh said that the current situation of unemployment is very alarming and dangerous in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
While talking to the Early Times, Jasvir Singh said that the present government has failed to fulfil its promises made with the youth.
“I strongly feel that the level of dedication and commitment is meeting in this government. Class IV aspirants, Border Battalion, Army aspirants are on roads for their recruitments, which shows the shortcomings in our recruitment process,” he said.
Pointing out at the functioning of JKSSB, Singh said that recent exams conducted by the JKSSB have caught into controversy due to non-transparency and use of unfair means in these exams due to which aspirants had to stage protests creating question marks on the credibility of the recruiting agency.
“CBT exams conducted by the JKSSB are self explanatory about mismanagement by the agency, where several candidates could not log on due to technical glitch and several could not mark their attendance,” he alleged. He further said that an already slow process has been observed in advertisement of posts for various departments and now JKSSB has also been given responsibility of conducting exams of Sub Inspector in Jammu and Kashmir Police, which is again going to be an uphill task for the recruitment agency. “The aspirants of Sub Inspector are now deeply stressed by seeing the failure of JKSSB in conducting free and fair exams which raised question marks on the surety of merit based selection. Although several things have changed after conversion of State into UT, the functioning of JKSSB has still not changed, which is somewhere a cause of concern,” he said.
Raising a question mark on the completion of a recruiting process, Jasvir Singh said that JKSSB is habitual of prolonging the recruitment process, which ultimately adversely affects the youth who lost their precious years in completion of this process. Youths have been passing through a very bad phase and they have been losing faith and trust from the current system.
“There are several flaws in policy making as only few in higher ups have been handling and deciding on these crucial things.
Huge overhaul is needed to revamp the recruitment process and there is dire need of making fool proof recruitment policy for youths,” he said further adding that suggestions from youth should be taken into consideration whenever recruitment policy is made.
