SPF accuses LG led administration of making hollow promises
1/31/2022 11:50:09 PM
Early Times Report

Jammu, Jan 15: Sikh Progressive Front on Monday accused about Lieutenant Governor led administration of making hollow promises.
President Balvinder Singh along with other members of the front, S Surinder Singh Wazir General Secretary, S Manjit Singh Sr Vice President S Rajinder Singh Sudan while addressing a news conference here recalled their meeting held with the Lieutenant Governor on March 14, 2021, in which a memorandum consisting of ten demands was submitted by them.
They said, “We were assured that a few demands mentioned in the memorandum will be addressed immediately; such as Constitution of Minority Commission in JKUT, installation of the statue of Baba Banda Singh Ji Bahadhur at Kunjwani Chowk, to take initiative for the promotion of Punjabi language, implementation of Anand marriage Act in JKUT, passed by Indian Parliament on 7th June 2012 in the budget session.”
They said, “During the meeting we made Hon’ble LG aware with regard to the debarring of non migrant Sikh youths of valley from availing the benefits under Prime Minister Special Employment Package, by amending J&K Kashmiri Migrants (Special Drive) Recruitment rules, 2009 of SRO 412 dated 30.12.2009 vide SRO 425 dated 10.10, 2017 Whereby the then State Govt added a clause stating that Non Migrant Kashmiri means “Kashmiri Pandits Only” .
Singh while explaining the discriminatory attitude of the JKUT administration mentioned 1997 posts advertised by SSRB for Divisional/District cadre posts vide advertisement No 03 of 2020 only for Migrant Kashmiri and Non Migrant Kashmiri Pandits only.
Despite being the assurances given by the Hon’ble LG yet another glaring example of discrimination with the micro minority Sikh community is quite visible from the recent advertisement Notification Number: 01. of 2022 Dated 27.01.2022 wherein SSRB has again advertised 89 post for Migrants and Non Migrant “KASHMIRI PANDITS” under PM Special Emploument package debarring the Non Migrant Kashmiri Sikh youths from the package.
As this order itself is discriminatory towards the interest of the Sikh Community of Kashmir Valley who didn’t migrate from the Valley, though they too suffered the same miseries even during peak of militancy and more than 150 Sikhs have also been killed in Kashmir Valley during three decade of militancy.
