J&K reports 15 Covid deaths, 2550 cases

SRINAGAR, Jan 31: J&K recorded 15 Covid-related deaths in the last 24 hours while 2550 new cases were also reported in the Union Territory, health officials said.
They said out of the 15 Covid deaths, 10 were reported from Jammu Division and five from Kashmir valley.
Of the 2550 new cases, Jammu region reported 974 Covid cases and Kashmir valley recorded 1576 cases.
In Kashmir region, Srinagar reported 391 cases, followed by Baramulla 210, Budgam 172, Pulwama 84, Kupwara 225, Anantnag 138, Bandipora 171, Ganderbal 18, Kulgam 140 and Shopian 27.
The Jammu district reported 500 cases, followed up Udhampur 120, Rajouri 53, Doda 90, Kathua 11, Samba 14, Kishtwar 107, Poonch 21, Ramban 32 and Reasi 26.
The health officials said the total number of active positive cases within the UT are 36372 cases.
"Out of active cases 9579 are in Jammu division and 26793 in Kashmir," they said.
The media bulletin said that no new confirmed case of mucormycosis has been reported today.
It said the last 24 hours saw a total of 62886 COVID tests being conducted.
It added that only 10.32 per cent of beds are occupied.
"Against the availability of 5038 dedicated level 1 & level 2 COVID beds only 520 ( 10.32 pc) are occupied," it said.
On Covid vaccination, the health officials said 32,645 doses of vaccine were administered in the last 24 hours bringing the cumulative number of doses administered to 2,04,68,109.
