| Residents to hold protest if name of Rajiv Gandhi Park changed: Satish Sharma | | |

JAMMU, Feb 4: Former chairman of Jammu Municipal Corporation and senior Congress leader Satish Sharma has warned the administration that if the name of Gangyal Rajiv Gandhi Park is changed, the Congress will launch a massive agitation.
Sharma said that this park was built in the name of late Rajiv Gandhi in 2006 and this park was made by the Floriculture Department in which the Municipal Corporation has nothing to do with it. He said that there was also a board of Floriculture Department in this park, which was removed from there at the behest of the local councillor.
He said that now this park has become the identity of the people of Gangyal and everyone knows this place as Rajiv Gandhi Park. He said that he has got information that Divisional Commissioner Jammu has sought information about all the resolutions passed in the corporation in which the name of Rajiv Gandhi Park of Ward 56 is also there. He said that if the administration changed the name of this park under the pressure of the BJP, then Congress party would be forced to agitate and we won't let the name of this park be changed. |
