| GDC Vijaypur organizes Essay Writing Competition | | | Early Times Report
SAMBA, Feb 4: World Cancer Day is an International Day marked on 4 February to raise awareness of cancer and to encourage its prevention, detection and treatment. The day is led by the Union for International Cancer Control to support the goals of the world cancer declaration, written in 2008. In order to drive mass awareness about this fatal and life threatening disease, NSS unit (KHIDMAT) of GDC Vijaypur organized an essay writing competition with the aim to reduce the misconception and myths about cancer and to help people in getting the right information at the right time. Students from various Institutions across the JK UT participated with great zeal, enthusiasm and fervor; relishing the competition, vital information dissipated and enriching ideas shared. The first position was shared by Shuvam Mankotia of Dept.of Hindi, Jammu University and Mansi Sharma of GDC Vijaypur ; second position was shared by Kavya Charak and Aryan Sharma of GDC Vijaypur while the third position was shared by Palvi of GCW Gandhinagar, Jyoti Janjua and Akash of GDC Vijaypur. Consolation prize was given to Manesha Sangotra of GDC Vijaypur. |
