2/5/2022 11:02:47 PM
Early Times Report
UDHAMPUR, Feb 5: A strong protest was held under the chairmanship of Tirantar Singh, District Vice President of Jammu and Kashmir Panthers Party, regarding the problems of basic facilities of various villages of Lander, Pancheri, Moungri and other areas in Bhamag belt, a backward and remote area of Udhampur district.
He said that about 50 houses in Kainthgali village did not even have water connection and out of the electric poles that came, 15 poles went missing from the road itself.
The Panthers leader visited Kainthgali, Mir, Pancheri, Lander, Karcha, Katti, Galyot, Purani Bhutti, Moungri, Kalsote and held meetings with the villagers and listened to the problems being faced by them.
Some of the issues highlighted included releasing the outstanding installments of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana viz a viz people, sheep, goats and cattle being targeted by bears, and cheetahs.
Addressing the meetings, Tirantar Singh said that in the area, bears and leopards are continuously targeting people, sheep, goats and cattle. Singh urged the Wild Life Department and the District Development Commissioner, Udhampur, to take appropriate steps to catch the bear and cheetah at the earliest.
Singh termed the government's claim of providing basic facilities at the earliest to the families deprived of electricity and drinking water facility in various villages of the area and to release the installments of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana soon and to provide online education in remote and backward villages of the area, as hollow.
Giving assurance to the people in different villages of the area, Tirantar Singh said that the Panthers Party would make every effort to get the problems related to the area resolved.
Surinder Singh, Govind Kumar, Mohindra Singh, former Naib Sarpanch Mulkh Raj, Sushil Kumar Sharma, Ravi Kumar, Balveer Singh and a large number of villagers were present on this occasion.
