Early Times Report

JAMMU, Feb 5: The career of thousands of unemployed youth of JK have been put at stake due to wrong policies and inefficiencies of the recruiting agencies, the hopes of these aspirants have been buried alive, and they want government to revoke their circular at the earliest.
Scores of youth today informed Early Times about the new circular of the GAD, in which they have informed the PSC and SSB that the administrative council has decided to withdraw all the posts referred to PSC and SSB before 31. 10. 2019 for which selections have not been made till date.
These youth said we are in a state of mental trauma; we fail to understand why government is playing different tactics with their future, adding instead of making these recruiting agencies accountable, the government withdraws all posts without giving any thought about the career of youth of Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
They said that their recruitment process was done in 2015, while as the list was finalized in April/2020 and at present it was pending in the court, but the new circular has shocked everyone.
Once the list is framed by the recruiting agencies like Service Selection Recruitment Board (SSRB), Public Service Commission (PSC) or any other board, it is their fault and inefficiency for which youth of J&K are bearing the burnt, they said.
According to them, there are thousands of aspirants from various departments, be it a Health, Finance, Higher Education, ARI and Trainings, Forest, Information Hospitality and Finance, Culture and so on and on where aspirants were eagerly waiting for their selection list.
One of the candidates from Bahu Fort said that, “she cannot sit in the examination now, if the posts were re-advertised as she is now married, definitely the competition will be high, and for God’s sake can anybody tell us what our fault is if the recruitment was delayed by the recruiting agency.
She further said that, government has failed at all corners, be at an unemployment or any burning issues of Jammu and Kashmir.
Another candidate from Padder area said that he was counting his good days, as the selection list was about to come, though the matter is in the honorable court, but expectations were high with the government.
“My parents are farmers, they are bearing all my expenses despite I am married as of now, and it is the fault of government, the recruiting agencies who delayed this process either deliberately or due to their incompetency”, he said.
Even though there is no clear cut policy about contractual who rendered their service, time and energy in serving various departments.
Same is the case with Assistant Information Officer’s post, it was re-advertised in 2021, for which written examinations, interviews and document verification was done, said another group of candidates.
They said that, irony of the matter is that, the equivalence of the certificates was verified, which was not in the domain of Higher Education and then after the same was sent to Kashmir University for further verification, which is sheer injustice with the aspirants.
All the candidates are post graduates in the media field, and they were expecting the selection list, but that is pending before the recruiting agencies due to best reasons known to them, government has failed in giving relief to the youth of J&K, said a group of candidates.
Pertinently the General Administration Department has informed the PSC and SSB that the administrative council has decided to withdraw all the posts referred to PSC and SSB before 31. 10. 2019 for which selections have not been made till date”, the circular issued by the government reads.
