DM Shopian pays surprise visit to District Hospital

SHOPIAN, Feb 5: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Shopian, Sachin Kumar Vaishya along with Additional Deputy Commissioner, Shopian, Mushtaq Ahmed Simnani today paid a surprise visit to the District Hospital Shopian to assess the quality of health services and patient care.
The DC also inspected various sections of the hospital and took stock of the medical facilities being provided to the patients there.
During the inspection one doctor and six paramedical staff were found unauthorizedly absent from duty and explanation of disciplinary action was also sought from the absentees. He warned that there will be zero tolerance against the dereliction of duties by employees.
Meanwhile, the DC reiterated that such inspections will continue in future also and dereliction of duty including unauthorized absence will not be tolerated at all.
Vaishya exhorted upon the health functionaries to work with great dedication, he also impressed upon them for providing better healthcare facilities to the patients and emphasised for punctuality.
The DC also visited different sections and wards including emergency, operation theatre, ECG unit, Dental section, X-ray, Gynae, and Post Operation wards and interacted with the patients and enquired about the health facilities being provided by the Hospital Administration to them. He enquired about the availability of medicines, diagnostic and other facilities available in the hospital.
While interacting with the patients and their attendants, Vaishya enquired about their well being and facilities being provided to them.
The DC directed the Medical Superintendent to ensure availability of essential medicines and other diagnostic equipment. He also directed for adhering to the office timing to avoid inconvenience to the patients.
Vaishya also took stock of the cleanliness in and around the DH and stressed for keeping the surroundings neat and clean and stressed on the sanitation and single window system facilities for the patients in the hospital.
