Shiv Sena welcomes resumption of Amarnath Yatra
2/23/2022 10:45:54 PM
Early Times Report
JAMMU, Feb 23: Shivsena leaders have overwhelmingly welcomed the preparations for the resumption of the Amarnath Yatra-2022, especially in view of the fact that it had to be stalled continuously for the last three years due to the abrogation of Article 370 in the year 2019 followed by the Covid-19 pandemic compulsions.
Shiv Sena J&K state unit chief Manish Sahni while addressing media persons during a press conference held at the party's state central here today said that in view of the government claims that terrorism has been wiped out from Jammu and Kashmir, we request the Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha to secure the Yatra route instead of taking the 'Amarnath Yatra' under security cordon.
Manish Sahni said that the facilities provided to the pilgrims of Amarnath Yatra should be optimum so that they can visit the religious and tourist places of Jammu and Kashmir as per their wish and complete the journey with pleasant experiences back to their home states across the nation. Sahni also appealed to the Lt Governor to fully secure the Jammu Srinagar National Highway before the pilgrims embark upon this most revered pilgrimage. He said that the highway craves for regular repair, starting the Banihal tunnel and improving the basic facilities at all the base camps including Pahalgam. Sahni specially raised the issue of development of world famous tourist destination and main base camp Pahalgam and demanded immediate removal of the ban on construction and repair of commercial and private buildings and houses. Along with this, there has been a demand for a special relief package from the government to all the businesses related to tourism including Pitthu, Pony, Taxi and Hotel.
Sahni also made a fervent appeal to the public in general and religious organizations especially Darnarth trust to make arrangements for accommodation for the devotees in their Dharamshalas. On this occasion Gen secretary Vikas Bakshi, Chairman Rakesh Gupta, Vice President Sanjeev Kohli, Balwant Singh, secretary Nagina Khan, Rajesh Khajuria were present.
