Kishtwar: 6 go missing at snow clad Margan top

Jammu, Feb 23: In a shocking incident, six people hailing from Warwan area of Kishtwar District goes missing from snow clad Margan top connecting Warwan valley of Kishtwar District via Anantnag District of South Kashmir.
As per the details available with Early Times, six people identified by the police sources as Ajaz Ahmad Koka son of Abdul Rehman Koka, Mohammad Akbar Koka Son of Ghulam Qadir Koka, Gulzar Ahmad Koka son of Ghulam Mohammad Koka, Sabzar Ahmad Dar Sana Ullah, Manzoor Ahmad Koka Son Ghulam Mohammad Koka and Ghulam Nabi Koka Ghulam Qadir all Residents of Chuidraman Warwan was on its way back to home, but didn’t return and are feared to be trapped in the snowstorm going on in the area.
“They speak to family members at around 9 PM on Tuesday- after that no body knows about their whereabouts” said Azad Nabi, local Sarpanch added that their is heavy snowfall going on in the area.
Speaking to Early Times, senior police officials said that it is snowing heavily in the area and it is not possible to launch any rescue operation till the weather improved. He said that they have taken up the matter with Anantnag counter part and urged upon the people not to travel without confirmation from the police and administration, particularly to snow bound Warwan valley.
“It is heavily snowing in Kokarnag area- so at Margan top and it is not possible for anyone to start any kind of rescue operation- we can only pray for their safety and are helpless under present circumstances” said the official posted in Anantnag District.
The locals while expressing their anguish over the incident termed the decision of moving through Margan top during this period of time as total madness.
