| Court frames corruption charges against Patwari in trap case | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Feb 23: Additional Sessions Judge Anticorruption Kathua Kamlesh Pandit today framed corruption charges against Romesh Chander S/o Bishan Dass R/o Thal, Tehsil Lohai Malhar A/P Malti Tehsil Billawar, then Patwari Halqa, Bhaddu Tehsil Billawar (Kathua) who was caught red-handed by the Anticorruption Bureau while accepting bribe Rs 10,000 for the complainant for issuance of Fard.
Additional Sessions Judge Anticorruption Kathua Kamlesh Pandit after hearing both the sides observed that it is prima facie proved by the prosecution at this stage that accused person was demanding illegal gratification from complainant for the issuance farad (revenue extract) and regarding which successful trap was laid against the accused person for proving demand and acceptance of bribe by the accused and bribe money was recovered from the accused during the trap. As a sequel to all what has been discussed herein above, this court has no reason to differ with the conclusion arrived at by the investigating officer as there are grounds for presuming that the accused person has committed the offence alleged to has been committed by him , so the accused person is liable to be charged accordingly.
