Technical errors mess up PMAY in Reasi
3/1/2022 11:49:24 PM
Early Times Report

Jammu, Mar 1: Technical errors have led to many people missing out from the list of beneficiaries under Prime Minister Awas Yojana (PMAY), housing for all scheme.
A Sarpanch, Jan Mohammad, from Dhamandi area in Reasi district while talking to a local news channel said, “Panchs and Sarpanchs had sent a detailed list to the administration about the deserving people. But when the list came fifty percent names were missing.”
He said, “When Assistant Commissioner Development (ACD) visited their area, they took up the issue with him and informed him about names of many deserving persons not figuring in the list.”
The Sarpanch said, “We told ACD that if we are lying come to the spot and assess the situation. He (ACD) regretted that there has been a technical error and it will be sorted out.
We told him even if the administration wanted to delete the names it should have informed the Panchayat members so that we could have substantiated our claim about forwarding genuine cases.”
“The ACD asked us to come up with another list and they will be included. We were surprised to see that if anyone has 2 kanal or 4 kanal agricultural land it was mentioned as 20 kanals and 40 kanals in the list, this error had led to many names getting deleted,” he said.
Jan Mohammad said that they had passed on the list administration nearly one year ago but till date nothing has been done. “Officials tell us that till date the site hasn’t opened, the remaining names will be added when the site reopens.”
He said people are blaming Sarpanchs and Panchs for the mess while the fact is that we have no role to play in it.
