HC formulates policy for posting of senior district judges, civil judges | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Apr 19: The full court held under the chairmanship of Chief Justice Pankaj Mithal discussed to formulate the policy shall, as far as .practicable, govern the posting of senior District Judges and senior Civil Judges(Sr. Division) as Principal District & Sessions Judges and Chief Judicial Magistrates. According to the order issued by Registrar General Sanjeev Gupta the District Judges cadre officers in the Super Time Scale and Selection Grade shall in the first instance be posted as Principal District & Sessions Judges; and, if sufficient, number of Officers are not available in-those ‘ grades, the officers in the Ordinary Grade of District Judges may be posted as Principal District & Sessions Judges. An officer who has already served in any district as Principal District & Sessions Judge may be posted in the courts of special jurisdiction having independent character or tribunals. Judicial officers in the district judges cadre who are comparatively senior in position shall ordinarily be sent on deputation on the posts, requiring appointment of district judge cadre officer. The judicial officers in the cadre of Civil Judge (Senior Division) who are higher up in the seniority shall be posted as Chief Judicial Magistrates in any district. Such Officers may, however, be posted in the courts of special jurisdiction having an independent character. |
