Early Times Report JAMMU, Mar 30: The latest report of the PEW Centre is out. The PEW provides information on social issues, public opinion, and demographic trends shaping the United States and the world. It has said that "Indians largely view Pakistan as a threat and believe the situation in Kashmir warrants more military force". The latest survey by the PEW Centre says that "a majority of the Indians believe that their government should use more military force in dealing with the law and order situation in the state of Jammu and Kashmir" and that "a majority of Indians (55 percent) see the situation in Kashmir as a very big problem". "More than half (53 percent) say circumstances in Kashmir have gotten worse over the last five years, and a majority (58 percent) believes the Indian government should use more military force than it uses currently in dealing with tensions in the area," the PEW report has said. "In the Center's spring survey last year, 76 percent of Indians said Pakistan is a major threat to their country, including 63 percent who said it is a very serious threat....

Early Times Report JAMMU, Mar 30: Various semi-government organisations in Jammu and Kashmir have become a burden on the state exchequer. Sources told Early Times that these organisations have suffered a loss of Rs 191 crores during the past two years. Among these semi-government organisations, which have turned into a "white elephants" Jammu and Kashmir Cements Limited (JKCL) tops the list. In the 2016-17 the JKCL suffered a loss of Rs 46 core, 17 lakhs, while in the last financial year it suffered a loss of Rs 31 crore, 73 lakhs. Early Times Report JAMMU, Mar 30: Farooq Abdullah's NC and Mehbooba Mufti's PDP claim day in and day out that they represent the whole of the state consisting of three distinct regions of Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh.
