Early Times Report Jammu, June 15: Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) president Mehbooba Mufti along with her arch-political rival and former chief minister Omar Abdullah attended the meeting called by the opposition to evolve consensus on the name of a candidate for the Presidential poll. The decision of both Mehbooba and Omar to sit together in the opposition camp is an indication of forming a grand alliance in Jammu and Kashmir in the coming assembly elections. The grand alliance will be comprised of all constituents of the Gupkar Alliance and Congress. Mehbooba Mufti has already initiated the process to revive old relations with Congress president Sonia Gandhi. Highly placed sources said that some political stalwarts at the national level are playing an important role in convincing both PDP and NC to jointly contest the elections along with Congress in J&K to stop BJP from forming its own government in the Union Territory. Early Times Report Jammu, June 15: After the Delimitation Commission has submitted its final draft, the process to review the electoral roll in Jammu and Kashmir has been initiated following the directions of the Election Commission. Revision of the electoral roll would initiate the process of holding the first assembly elections in the newly-carved Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir. Early Times Report Jammu, June 15: In a major breakthrough, police recovered explosives from a passenger bus near Jhajjar Kotli here in the city outskirts. Police sources said during a routine security excercise and checking at a check point, explosive in the form of gelatin sticks were recovered from a public transport bus at Jhajjar Kotli here. "The Bomb Disposal Squad was immediately pressed into service and explosive was detonated through a controlled mechanism," they said.
