Jammu to get Rs 62 cr less than Kashmir under DDUGJY

Early Times Report Jammu, June 4: On Monday, when the government was seen beating the trumpet of one of the vital power schemes in the state, Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Gram Jyoti Yojana (DDUGJY), what it tried to put under the carpet is the fact that Jammu region was ruthlessly discriminated in terms of allocation of funds under this scheme as well. Official documents in possession of Early Times reveal that Jammu region has been sanctioned 62 crore rupees less than Kashmir Valley under DDUGJY. While the Valley will get Rs 293.30 crore, Jammu will have Rs 231.45 crore in its kitty. The scheme will enable to initiate much-awaited reforms in the rural areas. Notably, the government on Monday stated that it will address the issues of water and power scarcity during summers. All PDD schemes were finalized and the requisite amount has been sanctioned to start the work any time soon. It further announced that by the end of December 2018 every home in the state will get quality power connection through DDUGJY and SAUBHAGYA schemes. Early Times Report Jammu, June 4: A former Chief Education Officer (CEO) Kathua, Nirmal Choudhary, who was attached at Deputy Commissioner Officer Kathua, was allegedly showered with invectives and wild allegations by the DC himself, who later got him arrested by police "to examine whether he was drunk or not." The police took the former CEO to district hospital Kathua, where doctors found the allegations baseless.
