Threatens to launch indefinite strike in case government fails to meet their demands

KISHTWAR, Sept 23: Traders Association Kishtwar hailing from minority community today observed a peaceful shutdown and close all their business establishment against the failure of the administration and government in providing them the compensation to the victims of August 9 violence. The traders after observing the complete shutdown presented a detail memorandum to Additional Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar Mohammad Hanief Malik and show their resentment over delay in disbursement of compensation among the victims of Kishtwar violence even after the lapse of 46 days.
While talking to "Early Times" President Traders Association Kishtwar Rakesh Gupta said that after getting dejected with the hollow assurances from the government and District administration with regarding to the early distribution of compensation among the August 9 Kishtwar communal clashes victims, Traders Association Kishtwar has left with no other option, but to observed a peaceful shutdown to cater the government attention towards the suffering of traders community who had lost their livelihood during Kishtwar clashes. He said that the approach of government towards Kishtwar violence victim is heartbreaking and time consuming, besides terming it as a "Drama" on part of the administration. He said that administration has betrayed the traders on the name of assessments and added that in case the government fails to address the issue within next five days, the traders association has decided to go for indefinite strike from next Saturday onwards. He said that the traders besides observing complete shutdown will also observed a hunger strike till the government did not distribute the compensation among the Kishtwar violence victims at par with the losses suffered by the community.
