| SI Neelam Saini suspended, departmental inquiry ordered | | Fleeing accused lady doctor from lock up | | Sumit Sharma
Jammu, Sept 23: Sub Inspector Neelam Saini, I/C PP Residency Road has been suspended by SSP Jammu Atul Kumar Goel following the reports of her visit to police station women cell, Jammu where she escaped the accused lady doctor from the custody of police station women cell and got her admitted in GMC hospital the previous day. An inquiry has also been ordered against her.
Goel when contacted said that inquiry has been initiated against her to ascertain the reason of her visit to the police station women cell. Sources said that DySP Head Quarters Rouf Lone was entrusted the inquiry.
Worthwhile to mention here that the sexual abuse of mentally challenged girls at Rotary Inner Wheel Home for Mentally challenged at Channi Rama which rocked the city on September 8/9, took a new turn when a lady police officer namely SI Neelam Saini posted as I/C PP Residency Road took the woman doctor with her from the custody of Police Station Women Cell Jammu and got her admitted in GMC hospital on the ground of her ill health.
The act of lady SI also left the senior police officers astounded as to what prompted her to indulge in such dare devilery at the cost of her career.
The lady doctor was on police remand following her involvement in abortion of the mentally retarded girls in her nursing home.
The incident took place on Sunday afternoon when I/C PP Women Cell was not present in her office . Sources said that Arti Thakur, SHO Police Station Women Cell , went home for lunch when SI Neelam Saiani appeared in Police Station Women Cell, took the key of the lock up from one ASI lady posted there and fled away with the lady doctor in her official Gypsy.
The lady doctor namely Dr Raj Sharma was arrested by Trikuta Nagar police a couple of days ago for her alleged involvement in abortion of sexually abused girls of said home.
The lady doctor and her husband have been running a nursing home in Ambphala Jammu. The involvement of lady doctor was surfaced on the disclosure of the arrested employees of the home that she was involved in abortion of sexually abused inmates of Rotary Inner Wheel Home for Mentally challenged at Channi Rama and accordingly was arrested under relevant section.
Sources alleged that SI Neelam Saini had developed relation with the lady doctor Raj Sharma following her posting as ICPP Rehari and was frequent to her clinic. Sources said that during inquiry, it is also to be ascertained whether Saini was aware of the abortion of the inmates of mentally retarded girls in Rotary Inner Wheel Home for mentally challenged at Channi Rama.
Meanwhile,SI Neelam Saini contacted to ET office, refuting the allegations, said that the matter of taking the lady doctor to GMC hospital was well versed with the SHO Trikuta Nagar and she had sought permission from the senior police officers also. |
