| Ban order thrown to wind in Sunderbani tehsil | | Practice of attachments continues in Education deptt | | AJAY SHARMA
katra, Sept 23: In blatant deviation from what the the orders of the state government led by NC have sought in banning the practice of attachments in government departments , the Education department authorities in district Rajouri have not only violated this order but in doing so have also deprived the children of their right to acquire education through teachers deployed in their schools. At least there are three teachers who have been attached to postings and places 'convenient' to them even though they were originally posted at three government schools in tehsil Sunderbani.
They have allegedly managed attachments to places of their choice by dint of political pressures or by using other 'means' but the fact remains this has happened in connivance with higher authorities at the helm.
Sources said a teacher by name of Badshah Hussain who was posted in Middle School Upper Hatahal has not been attending this duty and posting as he has been attached for the last three years in AG Office Jammu against some post . Surprisingly, his name continues to be in the attendance register in the said school against which every day the concerned officer puts the AG office mark, sources said it has never been revealed to any one why he has been attached on this posting for such a long period as a result of which children of the school are suffering as no other teacher has been appointed or transferred in his place.
The Sarpanch of the area has been making rounds to the offices of the concerned authorities to reverse the order of attachment so that the teacher could join back the school and serve in capacity of the teacher for which he has been appointed.
Almost in a similar pattern a teacher Zora Jabeen who was posted in Government High School Barnara in Sunderbani tehsil has been attached soon after this posting to another school Klalkash High School in Rajouri, apparently of her choice or on recommendation from any influential quarter.
Sources said area sarpanch has been trying to get this teacher back to the original place of posting for the school children who do not have other teacher in her place for several months now.
There is no response to what the people of the area and school children have been yearning in having the teachers in their schools so that they could get benefit of their regular presence in the respective educational institutions.
There is one more teacher by name of Kriti Gupta who was appointed in the Education department with place of posting in Middle School Thumbagran Nallah who has never come to this school after joining around two months back.
Again on the intervention of the Panchayat representatives when questions were raised for her continuous absence, sources said the brazen response from the teacher was that she would not come , rather prefer not to be in job on this posting. But her absence is also being attributed to be happening in connivance with the higher authorities or after their approval only as her name still continues in the staff register.
While the practice of attachments is continuing with teachers, higher authorities are doing so even with class four employees, for their own comfort and convenience . Sources said a peon who was posted at High School Barnara has been attached to the Jammu Director office despite there being only one peon at the said school. |
