Bail denied to two Asstt Supdts, one beneficiary | Plus 2 paper leak scam | | Jammu, Mar 20 (JNF): Additional Sessions Judge Jammu Mr. Sanjay Gupta today rejected the bail application of Raman Kumar and Sneh Gupta both Assistant Supdtt. and Rajat Gupta beneficiary who were involved in much publicized Plus 2 Examination Scam. According to the police case, on February 28, 2014 Joint Secretary BOSE lodged a written complaint with the police wherein it was narrated that on February 27, 2014 in the late evening an unidentified caller informed the Secy BOSE, Jammu that a group of some candidates in RS Pura area were writing the answer sheets of 12th class Annual Regular Examination in connivance with conducting staff. On this police lodged FIR and thereafter investigation was handed over to a SIT constituted by SSP Jammu. After hearing both the sides, Additional Sessions Judge Jammu Mr. Sanjay Gupta observed that law is clear that while granting bail, various factors are to be considered; there are nature of accusation, offence for which they are involved and in the present case accusation is serious as petitioners have shaken confidence of public at large specially young students who are studying hard for the days and night for appearing in examination and the 12 class is always considered as future for brilliant students and further observed that the investigation is at threshold stage and in case bail is granted, there is every apprehension that petitioners will tamper the prosecution evidence. With these observations court rejected the bail of three. |
