Minister of State Cooperatives (Independent) charge Dr. Manohar Lal Sharma welcomed the decision of party high command saying-"High Command has done a commendable job by declaring Azad Saheb as the candidate after continuous suspense over the Doda-Udhampur Lok Sabha seat as he is the leader of the Awaam (leader of the masses) and people wanted him to serve the way he has served the state during his tenure as Chief Minister of the state". Bhau Singh, Ex-Minister of Jammu and Kashmir cabinet, describing Azad as apt candidate for the seat said that the development that has been witnessed during Azad's tenure as Chief Minister is unforgettable in all the three regions of the state including Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh.
