| After JKPCC, PWD and (R&B) says it doesn't work for State, Central Govts | | | Bivek Mathur
Jammu, Apr 26: Moving on the footprints of Jammu and Kashmir Projects Construction Corporation Limited (JKPCC), its PWD & (R&B) department now which says it has not worked for State as well as Central Governments for the last three years.
The above shocking answer was provided in reply to an RTI filed by this activist seeking information regarding the total number of construction projects taken up by the PWD & (R&B) with ADB funding as well as state and central fundings for the year 2011-12, 2012-13 and 2013-14 respectively.
Quite cleverly, the Unit-1 and Division Samba of the PWD & (R&B) replied the first half of the question i.e. the number of projects taken up by PWD & (R&B) through ADB funding with "no" eating up the second half of the question i.e. With this, also give details of projects taken up by the department through state as well as central funded schemes?
When concerned Engineer of the Division Samba was contacted by this scribe about the illogical reply, he said he was in Delhi and the answer given was exactly what was asked by this RTI activist proving the received part of the RTI incorrect and without waiting for any second disconnected the call.
Earlier, similar reply was given to this activist by Unit-4 and Unit-2 of JKPCC in reply to an RTI query which JKPCC received on 2-04-2014 seeking to know about construction works taken up by JKPCC through Asian Development Bank (ADB), state funded projects and Central Government funded projects during the year 2011-12, 2012-13 and 2013-14 respectively. The activist had also sought to know about the expenditure incurred on these projects against the targeted expenditure with physical as well as financial achievements in the said period.
In reply to this, these units have only replied about the ADB which reads as- "No Project has been taken up by these units with ADB funding during the year 2011-12, 2012-13 and 2013-14 in Jammu division". Whereas, in the reply, there was no mentioning of projects taken up by state as well as Central funded projects which means it has not taken up any project with state and Central funded projects. |
