6/10/2014 11:50:29 PM
Early Times Report
JAMMU, June 10: Condemning the alleged sexual exploitation case of a female nurse, the J&K RTI Movement today demanded stern action against Health department officers including Director Health Services Kashmir Dr Saleem-ur-Rehman.
"We ask the state government to ensure a "free and fair investigation" on a fast track followed by stringent punishment which should serve as a deterrent for people who resort to heinous crimes like this," Dr Sheikh Ghulam Rasool, Chairman J&K RTI Movement said. These happenings are very serious and indicators of deep societal rot. The government apathy in stopping such crimes has further added to the vulnerability of women folk, Farooq Kuthoo, Chief Spokesman J&K RTI Movement said.
"We demand the trial be transparent and time-bound and free of any pressure or influence so that justice is done and the faith of the people in the integrity of justice system is upheld," he said.
