Immediate removal of VC-JU demanded | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, June 10: Student Scholar Joint Action Committee (SSJAC) an amalgam of the different student's organizations of Jammu University has demanded the Governor of immediate removal of Vice Chancellor JU MPS Isher alleging that VC is working in the hand of some blue eyed student leaders affiliated with political parties and sabotaging the image of the institution and demanded the Governor of his immediate removal. Addressing a press conference here today at JU campus, Parduman Singh Senior Scholar and eminent student leader said that the University is no more an institution of learning, academic and research now rather it has been converted into a place of hatred, animosity, revenge towards aspiring students by the officials at the helms.He further said that Vice Chancellor is lacking decision making quality and blue eyed students are exploiting this weakness for their vested interests by imposing ban on the entry of students, and some students were expelled on the instance of these so called leaders. Another member of SSJAC Nishi Slathia who is M Phil scholar of Department of Regional and Strategic Studies (DRSS) University of Jammu, alleged that genuine students are being barred from getting admission by the authority concerned. She accused the HoD DRSS Baljeet Singh of denying admission in Ph D courses and alleged that HoD is entertaining on the blued students and lambasted the VC for not taking notice of this matter as a result of which deserving scholars have been put at receiving end. Hitting upon the JU administration, she said University is run by some goons who have an affiliation with the political parties and hell bent to degrade of university functioning. She said that VC is working under the pressure of these political backed leaders of present dispensation to get further extension for three years. Ajay Sharma student of DSRS and student leader said VC has been proved failed on all fronts to run the JU smoothly. The members of SSJAC have resolved to launch massive agitation until the VC will not be removed and demanded new VC from outside the State who should have an international caliber. |
