Principal turned dictator to reply before court

JAMMU, July 24: In a bizarre case of dictatorial and callous approach of certain misfit elements in education system when there are laws against the corporal punishment and etc, the career of a young student of Class XI was put at stake, who not only was put on mental torture but also was put wrongful confinement by his faculty at St. Francis Hr. Sec. School, Akhnoor.
As per the available reports with Early Times, the principal of St. Francis Hr. Sec. School, Akhnoor was engaged in wrong confinement and corporal punishment of a student of his School namely Vishal Khajuria s/o Ram Paul Sharma R/o Vill. Sainth tehsil Akhnoor. The shameless act of the principal is seen as the principal used to torture his student mentally by humiliating him in front of other students.
According to the reports, the student who was a topper, also performed well in unit level papers of the school, but soon after the exams, on inquiring the reason of son's missing the school , father of the student came to know that his son is not allowed to come to school by the Principal for unknown reasons. The principal leveled false allegations and ordered the father of student to come along with his son. The Principal allowed the student to come to school on his parents request, but as the parents left, the Principal again expelled the student after humiliating and torturing him.
The Principal told the student to come again alongwith his father for repeated times and harassed the whole family. The principal also threaten the student to ruin his character. A writ petition in this regard was filed by the same student before High Court bearing no. OWP 428/2012 which was decided on 24-4-2012 directing to consider representation of the student to sit in U-4 Exam, but the principal refused to alow him and in final papers of math take up the student to his office and confined him for one hour.
In view of the complaint filed by the complainant, the court directed the Principal to pay an amount of Rs. 45000 as compensation for causing mental torture and Agony. Court also directed the Principal to pay Rs. 15000 for charging extra fee and humiliating the student in front of other students and putting in wrong confinement and Rs. 5000 as cost of litigation. The court also directed the principal to comply the order within one month from the date of receipt of the same, failing which the awarded amount will be recovered with 6% interest per annum from the date of same order.
