Revolt in state unit of BJP over Lal Singh's inclusion | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, July 25: Although outspoken leader and former Member Parliament (MP) Choudhary Lal Singh has publically announced to embrace Saffron, all is not well in state unit of BJP because local leadership is annoyed over the way high command is imposing leaders on them without consulting them. Credible sources in the BJP said after social networking sites reports that Choudhary Lal Singh has met with Prime Minister, Narendra Modi and BJP national president Amit Shah to prepare ground for joining BJP, local party leaders were shell shocked because they had openly opposed enrolling this outspoken leader in the party. Credible sources said that local BJP leader has sought to draw attention of party leadership towards highly derogatory remarks which was passed by Choudhary Lal Singh against Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, who was then BJP's Prime Ministerial candidate some months back. Local party leaders said that it was Choudhary Lal Singh who had termed Congress Rahul Gandhi of superior caste while comparing him with Narendra Modi. Credible sources said that local BJP leaders questioned credential of those national leaders who, without knowledge of the state, were hell bent to enrol all such leaders. A senior BJP leader disclosed that state unit of BJP has almost raised a banner of revolt against decision of the high command to admit Choudhary Lal Singh in the party without taking local leadership into confidence. Local leaders have regretted that it has become a routine these days that leaders are joining party without taking local unit into confidence. They pointed out that those who have been working since decades in the party have been sidelined and those who earlier used to criticize BJP have been given important positions. |
