VKMI visits flood affected area | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Sept 13: A team of Vichar Kranti Manch International (VKMI) on Saturday visited Falan Mandal, Surya Chak, and the most affected village due to recent floods and enquired from the residents of the Village about their needs at this critical juncture. According to press release, the villagers were highly obliged to the Indian Army whose team led by Major Pravesh have established a relief Camp namely "Megh Rahat Sahayta Shivir' in the Village for providing food and shelter to the needy people. VKMI team also interacted with Major Pravesh and enquired about the help which the VKMI can render for the flood affected persons of the area. Major Pravesh explained about the magnitude of the flood in the area and measures taken to rescue the Villagers. He also stated that all the affected persons have been provided tented accommodation in the School premises and all of them are being provided food and other necessary items by the Army. President SK Jain informed Major Pravesh that VKMI has taken the initiative of convening a meeting of about fifty NGOs on 13.9.2014 for suggesting coordinated steps required to be taken to provide some help on behalf of these NGOs to the extent possible. VKMI team comprises of SKJain, President, Ram Gopal Sharma, Vice President, S Parmjeet Singh, Publicity Secretary and Yash Pal Sharma, Joint Secretary visited the area. Dr OP Gupta, State President Vivekananda KandraKanyakumari also accompanied the team. |
