Poonch, Sept 13: Continuing with his efforts to reach every corner of flood affected areas of Poonch & Rajouri districts, Madan Lal Sharma Ex. Minister & Former MP who is on four days visit to flood hit areas of Rajouri, Poonch conducted an extensive tour of various villages of Poonch.
Among the villages toured by the former MP are Sathra, Galoti , Bufliaz, Surankote, Potha, Daheri Layote, Behrote, various camps where flood affected people are putting up and site visit of bridges, residential houses, roads damaged in flash floods and took stock of the losses caused due to heavy rains and flash floods. He observed that torrential rainfall claimed many lives including human and animals, damaged residential houses, cattle sheds, roads, streets, crops and power network. Sharma also interacted with the prominent persons of Surankote at Dak Bunglow Surankote and assured them that the losses occurred during flash floods and heavy rains will be taken up with the Government on higher level for adequate compensation.
He also met with the District Administration of Poonch and asked them to assess the loss of live stock, property, crops and provide immediate compensation and other basic facilities to the affected people. Shri Kuldeep Raj Verma, Vice Chairman OBC also demanded adequate compensation to the affected people. |
