Jammu, Sept 13: Jammu Province People Forum (JPPF) an amalgam of more than 50 social, commercial and other organizations, a united voice and common platform for the development of Jammu Province, convened a meeting under the chairmanship of M S Katoch working President to discuss the present scenario of the functioning of State government due to devastation caused by incessant rains and flash floods and demanded government operation from winter capital. The meeting resolved that since there is severe problem in Kashmir and it will take enough time to settle down therefore the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah must decide to make civil secretariat functional from Jammu and depute all secretariat employees who are in safe zones to resume duties immediately in winter capital. "We understand that situation is worst in some of the areas but it is also required to set things in motion, how long the Government will remain dysfunctional", they said. Katoch said that JPPF appreciates the efforts made by Army to rescue the people from affected areas. He also commended the role of central Government. Among prominent present in this meeting included Th Narayan Singh, Inderjeet Khajuria, Sardar Gajan Singh, M L Sharma, Amrit Magotra, Avinash Bhatia, Kamla Sharma, P S Slathia, Rajiv Mahajan, Jagdish Sharma, Rajesh Wazir, R P Shastri, Pritam Sharma, R L Tandon, Gajan Singh Khalsa and Prof B L Bhardwaj. |
