Relief material of Rs 1.5 cr dispatched to valley | | | Early Times Report
Kishtwar, Sept 20: In its tireless efforts, the people of Kishtwar District in collaboration with District administration Kishtwar since last two week when the flood marooned the entire Kashmir valley and parts of Jammu Division continued its relief and rescue work. They have collected the relief material worth over Rs 1.5 crore till date and same was successfully dispatched from Kishtwar to the valley under the supervision of Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar Mohammad Javed Khan in coordination with Kishtwar based NGO's. In its fresh efforts, today administration sent four trucks loaded with all kinds of essential commodities including one truck rice, and the other three loaded with clothes, Sleeping bags, Blankets, Medicines, Masks, Hardware tools like spade etc , vegetables, Mustard oil, milk and baby food etc. Since the havoc flood wrecked the valley , Kishtwar administration not only restored the alternative Sinthan link in record time to the valley, but also succeeded in sending the relief consignments continuously to the flood effected victims with the coordination of several NGOS. DC Kishtwar during all this period monitored the situation himself with the help of other district officers."So far more than Rs 1.5 crore of relif material in all forms including essential commodities has been dispatched to the valley" said DC Kishtwar in a press statement issued today. The press statement further stated that the district officers are being continously sent to Kashmir one by one which include ACD Kishtwar, PO DRDA, ARTO Kishtwar who identified the Kishtwar based flood hit victims and managed their safe passage back to their homes. ACD Kishtwar has been directed to help and coordinate the Kishtwar based bereaved families who lost their beloved ones in all matters including compensation. |
